The free expression of contemporary art draws me to the canvas. I love the stories each abstract painting tells and the emotions it evokes. Each observer’s imagination can run free to explore and find resonance amid limitless interpretation.

My brush and palette knife are instruments of joyful expression. Painting is the creation of new stories, new feelings, and the unleashing of a powerful cadre of colors. Color is my muse; it shows emotion and informs the intellect. Vibrant color is my oxygen... cobalt, lime, periwinkle, orange-red, yellow ochre - hues that make the surface dance and launch my mind to soar. According to Oscar Wilde, “Mere color, unspoiled by meaning and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand ways.”

Listen for what your soul sees.

In many of my works, a puzzle piece can be found.

While they are surely signs of my inner-whimsical kid and the playful spirit of my four grandsons, they are also the universal symbol for autism awareness and a call to find the piece or pieces that may unlock autism’s mysteries.
